Highlights of Our Work
The Ask
When CT shutdown due to the pandemic, the WSO was looking to offer its audience a musical experience to provide their concert-goer with the opportunity to continue to engage with the symphony.
Our Approach
We partnered with WSO and explored content flow and audience engagement. We created a format session that included education, music and a panel discussion.
The Impact
WSO was live 7 short weeks after the state of CT shut down. The Board Calendar and Board Guidelines have improved overall effectiveness.

The Ask
The Executive Director was seeing improvement opportunities in two areas: one, to improve board engagement and two, creation of values to enhance strategic messaging to the larger community.
Our Approach
We partnered with the Executive Director and kicked off a values exercise with the Board. The Board identified 5 values that will guide their decisions. In addition, we created several leadership tools for the organization including an Annual Board Calendar and Board Organizational Guidelines.
The Impact
With the publication of values, there is common understanding of what the organization holds dear. The values were documented as part of a grant and helped secure $30K in funding. The Board Calendar and Board Guidelines have improved overall board member satisfaction as the board is clearer on the monthly topic and has a reference guide to refer to should board questions arise.
